Existential Science Lab
Humans are existential animals. We are uniquely aware of our mortality and able to ask questions about the meaning of life. We go to great lengths to feel more than mortal, to find enduring meaning.
Our lab uses a range of empirical methods to explore the cognitive and motivational processes that lead to existential questions and anxieties about death and meaning and how these questions and anxieties impact mental and physical health, close relationships, and people's ability to respect and peacefully coexist with those who subscribe to different meaning-providing belief systems.
